Ezekiel happy with Anderlecht winning spirit in thriller

01 December 2015, 07:43

Abuja - One-cap Super Eagles attacker Imoh Ezekiel has revealed delights at the way his team, Anderlecht edged Oud Heverlee in a Belgium Pro League match on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts won 3-2 at the Constant Van den Stock with the 36 Lions product playing for a period of 57 minutes in the five-goal thriller.

Imoh who is on-loan from Al Arabi praised his team mates for their performance and championship spirit. "The win was very important because we had to ensure we moved up in the table," Imoh said.

"With 32 points from and one match in hand, I believe that the chasing pack are also feeling the pressure too," he continued

"The win was even much more impressive because we had to travel from Monaco and had few days to prepare for the game. With two wins in three days I think we are maintaining the momentum."

Ezekiel received his first call-up to the Nigeria national team in February 2014.

The 22-year-old earned his first senior cap on 6 March, in the Super Eagles' 0–0 draw with Mexico in a friendly match after coming on as a second-half substitute for Victor Moses.
