FC Ifeanyi Ubah coach targets league title

25 January 2016, 10:15Israel Ojoko

Lagos - Newly appointed coach of FC Ifeanyi Ubah Mitko Dobrev is optimistic the Nnewi—based club will put up a good display in the Nigeria Professional Football League 2015/2016 season.

The Bulgarian who handled Heartland of Owerri in the 2007/2008 season as well as Accra Hearts of Oak was unveiled to fans and supporters of the club on Sunday.

He was at the helm of technical matters at the club at the start of last season but was eased out following the change of ownership of the club later on, despite impressive performances and results.

“We have a good team, there are new players from Brazil, coupled with the players here, I think we have a good team that can challenge for title when the season resumes.”

The new league season has been scheduled to kick off on February 21.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah defeated newly promoted Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry (MFM FC) 1-0 in a preseason game played inside the Agege Stadium on Sunday.
