Ighalo delights in victory over Sunderland

14 December 2015, 09:52

London - Jude Odion Ighalo expressed delight at Watford’s 1-0 win over struggling Sunderland in the English Premier League to make it three on the spin for the Hornets.

The 26-year old netted his 10th goal of the campaign with a 4th minute strike to seal the win for Watford, and help them climb to 7th on the log.

Speaking after the game, Ighalo expressed his delight, but noted they will have some difficult fixtures in the following weeks.

“I am very happy we won and the three points were very important to us,” he said.

“It was a difficult game but we held on till the end and it is very important to us because we have some difficult games coming in the next few weeks down to the new year so that makes those three points very important.

“We want to keep pushing and see how far we can go. The goal came in the 4th minute and that put them down and we could have scored more goals in the first half but we have to keep going.

“I missed some chances to finish the game but it doesn’t matter because what matters are the points and the team really deserves some credit, from the goalkeeper to everyone and we are really happy we got the three points,” he added.
