23 January 2016, 21:46Israel Ojoko

London - Striker Odion Ighalo scored for his English Premier League club Watford in a 2-1 win over Newcastle United.

Ighalo was in the starting lineup and broke the deadlock in the 46th minute after a barren first half.

He then set up Craig Cathcart, who drove in the second from six yards to extend Watford’s lead in the 58th minute, before Jamaal Lascelles pulled one back for Newcastle United 13 minutes later.

Ighalo, who last scored on 28 December 2015, rediscovered his scoring touch as Watford won their first league game in six with victory over struggling Newcastle at Vicarage Road.

The Nigeria international has now scored 14 goals for Watford this season to remain the top scorer.

Newcastle remain in the bottom three with 21 points, while the Hornets move up to 10th with 32 points.
