Iheanacho prepared for Guardiola's coming

17 May 2016, 16:24

London - Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho is prepared to welcome his new manager Pep Guardiola to the club following the exit of Manuel Pellegrini, SuperSport reports.

The Nigeria international scored 15 goals for the Etihad club in his first season in England, thanks to the belief of Pellegrini in the young lad.

News24 reports that he scored City’s only goal in a 1-1 draw against Swansea, a result that fired the club to the UEFA Champions League next season.

Iheanacho is now looking forward to the arrival of the former Barcelona coach.

"There is a great manager coming in and you have to be happy about that.

"We (Manchester City stars) will work with him and he will be choosing the players he wants to work with next season so it's a case of working hard and seeing what happens.

"Pep is a great manager who has coached some big teams in Europe and won a lot of trophies. I think he will do the same for us as well.

"I hope he can improve my game to help take me to the next level and we can all win many trophies," Iheanacho told reporters.
