Bauchi - Sam Okpodu, Chief Coach of Ikorodu United FC, has
described as poor the officiating by referees who handled his team’s game
against hosts Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi.
The Lagos-based side lost 3-0 in the 2015/2016 Nigeria
Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day 19 fixture played on Sunday.
“In spite of the fact that my team did well, the officiating
of the match was unimpressive.
“My team had been doing well all long till today, and the
poor officiating contributed to our poor performance,’’ Okpodu said during the
post-match interview at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
He however congratulated Wikki Tourists for their victory.

On his part, Abdullahi Maikaba, the Chief Coach of Wikki
Tourists, commended his team for their performance and urged the players to
maintain the tempo in subsequent matches.
“I am pleased with the performance of the team, and the
officiating aspect too," he said.
Wikki Tourists scored their first goal 11 minutes into the
first half through Hamza Tiya.
They scored their second and third goals in the 23rd and
77th minutes through Saidu Abdullahi and Tiya respectively.
