Kwara United retains 22 players for new NNL season

15 December 2015, 17:31

Ilorin - Nigeria National League giants Kwara United say they will only retain 22 old players for the 2015/2016 season.

The full list of players on the roster will be released in the coming days.

Reports in the local media have suggested that Fade Adebayo, Adeshina Gata, Sherif Jimoh, Abubakar Salmon, Jimoh Ahmed, Kehinde Ayeni, Halilu Obadaki, Akeem Onigbari, Isiaka Oladuntoye, Abubakar Yusuf and Suraj Ayeleso will remain.

Already, Segun Alebiosu, Dare Ojo, Kazeem Yekeen, Olufemi Oladapo, Ismail Gata have been linked with moves away from the club in the last one week.

While the Harmony Boys have axed several players, there is information from insiders that more new players will be signed to boost the squad and replace the departing players.

However, with club chairman Oladimeji Thompson reluctant to sign more players, finance could be the sticking point in their quest to sign top players.
