Lagos - Lagos-based football coach Tunde Lawson has urged players to take education seriously as education is more powerful then a weapon.
“Football is a powerful weapon, but when education is added to it, it becomes a more powerful weapon,” the 2012 Sports Festival Football winning coach told News24.
“You will agree with me that some footballers weren't successful but they had to fall back on their certificate to be useful in the society.”

“Players like Seyi Olofinjana, Pius Ikedia, Vincent Enyeama and Segun Odegbami made good steps by being educated.
“I'm using this media to appeal to footballers both male and female, to see life after football and ensure that they go to school,” he concluded.
