LMC commiserates with Nasarawa United over captain’s death

31 December 2015, 15:34

Abuja - The League Management Company (LMC) has described the passing on of Nasarawa United captain, Baba Idris as a loss to the nation's football, the League and his club.

In a condolence message to the family through the club, Chief Operating Officer of the LMC, Salihu Abubakar said the death is more saddening coming at a period the late Idris had just captained the club to play for continental honours in the CAF Confederation Cup.

“On behalf of the Management and Staff of the LMC and the 20 participating Clubs of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and other stakeholders, we express deep sympathy to the family of the late player.
“His death is even more painful coming on the heels of the club's success in the last season which has earned them a continental ticket,” Abubakar said.
The LMC urged the Management and players of Nasarawa United to honour their late captain by winning the CAF Confederation Cup. "The best honour you can accord your late captain is to win the CAF Confederation Cup and dedicate it to his memory,” the LMC remarked.
