19 November 2015, 17:06

Lagos - The Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos will host yet another high profile match from the local scene when Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clubs, Lobi Stars and Akwa United FC trade tackle in the 2015 Federation Cup final on Sunday November 22.

The same stadium played host to NPFL 2014/2015 champions, Enyimba as they played their last match in the league against Sunshine Stars. Apart from the trophy which will be the major attraction; both clubs will eye the CAF Confederation Cup ticket at stake.

Lobi Stars forward, Obioma Collins Arinze has expressed confidence about the chances of the Benue State team to lift the trophy.

On arrival in Lagos on Wednesday night, the former El-Kanemi Warriors player said the Federation Cup final is another opportunity to put smiles on the faces of their fans.

"We are here for one reason and that's to lift the Federation Cup trophy. We won it in 2003 but lost it to Heartland in 2012 but this year's' final will favor us," Arinze told News24

"We played against Akwa United in Uyo in the last match of the NPFL last season and we lost but playing against them in Lagos will afford us yet another opportunity to get over them and play on the continent," Arinze stated.

The 2014 champions, Enyimba could not make it to the final after a back to back defense of the title.

The 2015 final has been scheduled to kickoff by 4pm local time.
