NFF query Oliseh over CHAN ouster

28 January 2016, 18:13Israel Ojoko

Abuja - The Nigeria Football Federation have issued a query to Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh following the team’s ouster at the African Nations Championship in Rwanda, News24 understands.

Nigeria crashed out of the 2016 CHAN after losing 1-0 to Guinea, a situation Oliseh attributed to lack of payment of players’ bonuses and allowances.

Oliseh, who has returned to his base in Belgium, is said to have been issued a query by his employers to explain why the Super Eagles, who have been topping Group C from the first game, could not qualify for the quarter final of the tournament.

News24 also understands that there are reports of calls for the sack of Oliseh.

Oliseh’s reply to the query will determine NFF’s next move, though the federation is strongly behind the coach.

Oliseh has played 11 games since taking over as Super Eagles coach in 2015, winning five, drawing four, and losing two.
