Lagos - Nigeria’s first group opponents at the 2016, CHAN tournament Niger Republic, lost their first tune-up of game for the competition after they were beaten 1-0 by Cameroon in Niamey.
Les Mena, as the Nigeriens are called, hosted the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the Stade Seyni Kountche on Wednesday saw the Cameroonians run out victorious in a cagey game.
The first half ended even, as both sides fired blanks, but the Indomitable Lions went in front late in the second half through Ngondji and held on until the end to condemn Niger to a defeat in their first tune up game.
Niger is also expected to play Morocco in another friendly, before they depart for the CHAN tournament which holds in Rwanda from January 16.
The will play their first game in group C against Nigeria on January 18 at the Stade Regional Nyamirambo, in Kigali.
The group also houses Tunisia and Guinea, meanwhile, Cameroon play in group B with DRC, Ethiopia and Angola.
Meanwhile, Nigeria is scheduled to play two international friendlies before the start of the competition; against Cote d’Ivoire and Angola.
