Abuja - The Secretariat of the Nigeria Women Football League
(NWFL) on Thursday in Abuja said it has fixed February 20 as the commencement
date for the 2015/2016 Premier League.
A press release signed by Emmanuel Adesanya, the League’s
Secretary, indicated that the Women Professional League would begin a week
after the Women Premier League Feb. 27.
“Collection of registration materials is already on and will
end on January 31, with the returning of all registration materials slated for
February 12,’’ the league organising body said in the press release.

The release quoted Adesanya as saying the inspection of the
various stadia to be used by clubs would hold between February 13 and 17.
It said the Premier League was expected to be concluded on
August 27, while the Super Four competition would hold on September 24.
Adesanya also announced that 14 clubs would take part in the
Premier League, while 13 clubs were eligible to participate in the 2015/2016
professional league season.
“All clubs have also been directed to offset their
liabilities for the last season before effecting registration for the new
season,’’ the press release further quoted him as saying.
