NPFL Final Day showdown as Giwa, Nasarawa and Wikki fights on

09 November 2015, 08:40

Abuja - While Enyimba FC fans are rejoicing their club's 7th Nigeria Professional League (NPFL) title this season and a CAF Champions League spot alongside Warri Wolves FC who looks certain to have clinched the second spot on the log, Giwa FC, Nasarawa United and Wikki Tourist are all fighting for one continental slot; CAF Confederation Cup.

Apart from earnings accrued during the league, the first three clubs that tops the NPFL log at the end of the season are guaranteed continental club football.

Giwa FC have their destiny in their hands, all the efforts the Jos Elephant had put in all through the season will depend on their last today performance, when they visit Lafia to face Nasarawa United who have done the needful picking points away from home and that has helped the Solid Miners to the third place on the log as at week 37.

Another top performer, Wikki Tourist sit at the forth place which might change after the last day result but they will have their eyes set on what's happening in Lafia.

On the last day Giwa FC with 63 points with plus nine goals will visit Nasarawa United who are on 60 points with plus nine goals. The home team, Nasarawa United will target a win while the visitors, Giwa FC will target at least a draw which is enough to secure a continental slot.

Wikki Tourist with sixty points and plus seven goals will target a win and a high goal margin when they host seventh placed Kano Pillars on the last day. It looks as though Wikki Tourist are out of contention but a win and a higher goals difference may see them through depending on the result in Lafia.
