Omagbemi still missing from Super Falcons camp

16 March 2016, 14:19

Abuja - Super Falcons caretaker coach Florence Omagbemi is still staying away from camp as a result of her discomfort with her designation as interim coach, SuperSport reports.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) named the former Falcons captain and defender as assistant coach to a yet to be named expatriate coach together with her former teammates, Perpetua Nkwocha and Ann Agumanu-Chiejine.

Nigeria will play Senegal or Guinea on April 4 for a place in the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Cameroon with the reverse leg two weeks after, and Omagbemi was asked to oversee the games on interim basis.

40 players have been invited to the Falcons camp that opened on March 1 in Abuja as the trio of Ann Agumanu-Chiejine, Perpetua Nkwocha and Bala Mohammed are in charge of training with no clear word when the interim coach will hit camp.

After the completion of a two-week grace period granted Omagbemi, she is still yet to resume camp in Abuja.
