Lagos - Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has again scored, though not against an opponent but in giving back to the society for the development of grassroot women’s football.

The final of the second edition of the Oshoala U17 football competition holds on Boxing Day after stiff competition on the road to the final.

The annual competition, which is in its second edition has grown in number of participating clubs, from four teams in the maiden edition, to 14 clubs in the second edition.

Speaking in Lagos, Oshoala said her passion for grassroot development is the drive behind the competition.

“The tournament is for the girls to come play and enjoy themselves,” said the Arsenal forward.

“As a graduate of Lagos State Polytechnic, I want to girls to know that you can play football and still go to school, because football and education should go hand-in-hand.”
