Players of banned Giwa FC freed to join other clubs

Lagos - The Nigeria Football Federation has given provisional clearance to all players of erstwhile NPFL club, Giwa FC of Jos to join other clubs.

“Based on the LMC’s expulsion of the club from the Premier League and the NFF ratification of the same measure and with special reference to article 14 & 23 of the FIFA regulations on the status and transfer of players, all players of Giwa FC as pronounced by the LMC and the NFF Disciplinary Committee are free to provisionally register for any club of their choice till the end of the 2015/2016 football season.” A letter signed by NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi to the Chairman of League Management Company said.

“Note also that, all the players are to return to the management of Giwa FC after the last match of the 2015/2016 League Season.”

News24 can report that Giwa FC were suspended from the current season of the Nigeria Professional Football League after failing to honour three consecutive games.
