Port Harcourt - Players and officials of Rivers United have
been splashed seven million naira by the Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike
after beating 3SC 2-0 in a Nigeria Premier League tie played on Sunday in Port
Harcourt, Sportdaylive reports.
The governor, who was physically present at the Yakubu Gowon
stadium, also promised more monies if the club live up to expectations.
According to Wike, N3.5 million has been set as the
financial carrot each time the football club earns a draw away from home in the
NPFL this season.

For an away win in any of their remaining matches in this
season’s NPFL, the sum of seven million naira (N7 million) has been earmarked
as financial appreciation.
The Rivers State Chief Executive also promised the sum of
fifty thousand US dollars ($50,000 USD) if the team defeats either Julius Atete
FC or Enyimba International FC in the quarter final of this year’s Federation
reported that Rivers United defeated 3SC in the Federation Cup Round of 16,
which makes Sunday’s victory the second in four days over the Oluyole Warriors.For
