Abuja - The Nigerian under 23 team coach Samson Siasia, has given the NFF a two weeks ultimatum to pay the salaries owed to him or he will visit the NFF office in Abuja and sit there until he is paid, Herald reports.
The Rio Olympics bronze winning coach, signed a two-year contract with the NFF which ended this summer after their trip to Brazil where he led the under 23 team to win.
Samson who said he was owed for a duration of five months, is unhappy about the situation, he also at some point during the Olympics threatened to join his players on a strike.
In his words he said ” I have given them two weeks ultimatum to pay me or I will sit inside the NFF office in Abuja until I get paid, ”
“The National team is preparing for a world cup qualifier and to be honest, my unhealthy distractions are the last thing they need right now”.
Youth and Sports Minister Barrister Solomon Dalung had last month charged the Nigeria Football Federation to pay the U-23 National team Coach Samson Siasia according to News24.
The Minister gave the charge when Siasia paid him a visit in his office in Abuja.
Siasia had visited with his wife Eunice to thank the Minister for his support to the Dream Team from Atlanta to Rio where they won Bronze in the football event of the Rio Olympics and to officially inform him that his contract with the NFF has ended.
Dalung directed the Secretary-General Mohammed Sanusi who was also present to ensure that Siasia gets the arrears of his five month's salaries.
