Sunshine Stars appoints Samson Unuanel as new Head Coach

Lagos - Nigeria Professional Football League side Sunshine Stars have announced the appointment of former Ocean Boys gaffer Samson Unuanel as their new head coach.

The ex-Prime FC boss Kennedy Boboye who resigned his position at the end of last season after he failed to meet his target of qualifying the team for either the CAF Champions League or the Confederation Cup.

“We want to assure the fans that this is the best decision we have taken for them. Samson Unuanel is the right man to lead us for next season,” a top official of the Owena Waves told News24.

“We promise to back and support him achieve his targets as coach and send the club far.”

Unuanel has vast Nigeria Professional Football League experience after Ocean Boys, Niger Tornadoes, Enyimba and Kwara United in addition to an assistant coaching position at the Super Falcons.

The disciplined coach holds an International DFB Coaching Certificates in Cologne (Advanced Level).

Coach Unuanel is expected to arrive in Akure on Thursday to sign the contract.

However the terms of the contract between Sunshine Stars and Unuanel remains undisclosed.
