Super Eagles get Angola, Ivory Coast friendlies

Lagos - The home based Super Eagles squad will play Angola and Ivory Coast in two friendly games next month when they travel to South Africa for their training tour ahead of the 2016 CHAN.

The Super Eagles will play the home based Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire on January 9, and then play Angola two days later.

The games will help prepare the teams for the CHAN in Rwanda, as all three of them will be participating in the competition, which starts on January 16.

The Super Eagles are presently camped in Abuja, training for the last one week, before they travel to Pretoria, South Africa, where they will train before traveling to Rwanda.

They are in group C, along with Tunisia, Guinea and Niger and they play their first game against the Nigeriens on January 18.

Nigeria played at the CHAN tournament for the first time in 2014 in South Africa, and came third after beating Zimbabwe 1-0 in the losers’ final.
