Super Four: ‘Akwa United lucky to beat Nasarawa’

02 February 2016, 08:49

Uyo - Coach Kabru Dogo of Nasarawa United FC, said on Monday that Akwa Ibom United FC was only lucky to defeat his club in the ongoing 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League Super Four tournament.

Dogo spoke with newsmen shortly after the match day one of the second leg of the tournament at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Akwa United defeated Nasarawa United by a lone goal.

The coach said that his club played better, adding that if his club had converted the three chances it had, they would have come out victorious.

''I have nothing more to say than to congratulate them for the victory, but I still maintain that my team played much better than Akwa United today, but luck was not on our side,'' he said.

Akwa United is now topping the Super Four table with seven points from four games.
