Taribo denies death rumours, says he is alive

01 October 2016, 09:01

Lagos - Former Nigeria defender Taribo West has debunked news reports on the social media and websites claiming he died in a South African hospital on Thursday, reports Punch.

The Nigerian football community was thrown into a state of shock when reports surfaced that Taribo died after a brief illness.

Several media outfits according to Premium Times had pronounced Taribo dead on the basis of a report on a South African radio station

The report said West was flown into South Africa for medical treatment.

The report, however did not say state what he was diagnosed of.

The report added that his body has since been sent for autopsy.

But West, who is now a pastor and founder of Shelter in The Storm Miracle Ministries of All Nations, said he was alive and well, and never visited South Africa.

He said he first got wind of the news while at home meditating ahead of his church programme on Sunday.

He added that he had a premonition that something ‘evil’ was going to happen, after a spiritual attack.
