Udoji hails Enyimba league triumph

19 November 2015, 16:12

Lagos - Enyimba captain Chinedu Udoji has been speaking on their record 7th Nigeria Professional Football League title.

The People's Elephants dethroned Kano Pillars to emerge winners of the 2015 Nigeria Professional Football League, beating closest rivals, Warri Wolves to the title, making it their 7th.

And Udoji, whose goals in the tail end of the season contributed in no small measure to the club's success, has spoken of their achievement.

"We have fought so hard a number of times without getting to win the league, but we kept pushing hard and this season we have been able to achieve our objective," he told the club website.

"Winning the league is not something I can describe. I must confess that it's a great achievement. Since I joined Enyimba, we have won the Federation Cup twice, but not the league.

Speaking further, the central defender posited that Enyimba now ranks amongst one of the greatest clubs in Nigeria, given the number of trophies they have won.

"Now, you can pick Enyimba as the best club in Nigeria with these trophies we have won. We have proved to everyone that we are the best by winning this seventh title," he added.
