Verratti, Pastore with 'small chance' of City return

08 April 2016, 19:03

Paris - Paris Saint-Germain midfield duo Marco Verratti and Javier Pastore have "a small chance" of returning for Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Manchester City, coach Laurent Blanc said on Friday.

Blanc had ruled both Verratti and Pastore out of next week's trip to England following Wednesday's 2-2 draw at the Parc des Princes, but the Frenchman conceded there was still a possibility they could feature at the Etihad Stadium.

"Come on, there's perhaps a small chance," Blanc told reporters ahead of his side's game away to Guingamp in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Verratti has been on the sidelines with a groin injury that also kept him out of last month's last 16, second-leg win at Chelsea, while Pastore has been struggling with a calf problem and also missed Wednesday's first leg.

PSG will definitely be without Blaise Matuidi and David Luiz due to suspension in Manchester, while Blanc said "there will certainly be new faces" for Saturday's visit to Guingamp with his focus on next week's return leg.

PSG have already won the French title for the fourth year in a row.
