Victor Moses returns in January

26 December 2015, 12:01

London - Nigeria forward Victor Moses will miss the rest of the year, but is expected to return to training in the early parts of January, West Ham United have announced.

The former Wigan Athletic winger is on-loan at Upton Park from Chelsea and had a fairly decent run before injuring his hamstring on December 5 against Manchester United.

In a statement released on the club's official’s website, West Ham's head of Medical and Sports Science, Stijn Vandenbroucke said both Moses and defender Winston Reid will return in early January.

"Winston Reid and Victor Moses are running outside and are both on schedule to join training in early January," the statement read in part.

“We will have more details on their recovery from their respective hamstring injuries next week," the statement read further.

The 25-year old will now miss the games against Aston Villa on Boxing Day, Southampton two days later, and against Liverpool on January 2.

He may however return for the third round FA Cup clash against Wolves, barring any relapse.
