Watford manager hails Ighalo after Liverpool brace

22 December 2015, 13:01

London - Nigeria international, Odion Ighalo was the center of attraction after Watford pounded visitor, Liverpool 3-0 at Vicarage Road last weekend in an English Premier League match scoring a brace.

The former Julius Berger forward, Ighalo has tuned up his goal scoring form as he scored in his fourth consecutive English Premier League (EPL) match in a row. His brace in the 3-0 win against Liverpool has added up his goals tally in the EPL this season to 12.

The Super Eagles striker got the thumbs up of his manager at Watford, Quique Flores, stating that Ighalo deserves to be in the blistering form even as he noted the importance of team work.

"Ighalo is the biggest scorer this season. He is always close to the box, always shooting and creating attempts, he deserves it. But of course it depends on the players," Flores told BBC Sport.

Odion Ighalo's form has raised reasons for concern for a Hornets departure as some EPL clubs are said to be linked to the Nigerian whose goals helped Watford gained promotion and has also helped in a steady rise to within one point of the top four.
