Why Oliseh reject Kaduna for Egypt clash

05 February 2016, 10:12Israel Ojoko

Lagos - Major reasons have emerged why Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh rejected the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna as venue for the crucial 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt.

Oliseh instead prefer the Adokiye Amasiemaka Stadium in Port Harcourt for the March 23 clash.

Oliseh explained that the players would have less time to train together because the game will be played on a Wednesday, barely two days after club fixtures in Europe.

He also said if the players don’t get a direct flight to the venue of the game, it could affect the team’s preparation, noting that Kaduna do not have international airport for a direct flight.

But there are reports that the Nigeria Football Federation has already began mobilization of Kaduna residence ahead of the game.

It remains to be seen what the final decision will be.
