AFN announce relay team

23 March 2015, 20:20

Lagos - The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) revealed the team to be sent to the Kenyan 4x400m relay trials in Nairobi in April.

"I am also to inform that we have negotiated to participate at the Kenyan National Relays taking place on the 2nd of April," Omatseye Nasaimi, AFN technical director said.

"We are expected to present our 4x400m men and women teams. Consequently, the following athletes are invited to prepare accordingly: Folashade Abugan, Omolara Omotoso, Rita Ossai, Tosin Adeloye, (women). Noah Akwu, Orukpe Erakoyan, Fasasi Rilwan, Tobi Ogunmola, Isah Salihu (men). These athletes are to be tutored by Coach GABRIEL OKON in Abuja. Our World relay teams would be selected from Nigeria and the US depending on athletes’ individual and collective performances.

"Owing to the fact that most of the athletes selected are in school and of course with the polls around this same time, the Technical Committee has directed a regional form of camping for the time-being.

"To this end, all athletes and coaches are to contact the AFN Secretary General for necessary administrative briefs while also immediately commence intensive training at their respective locations in preparation for final selection trials/closed camping in the first week of April."
