Lagos - James Richards, a swimming coach from Leeds in England, has been called upon by the Aquatic Federation of Nigeria.
Richards arrived on Sunday and is currently conducting a week long technical coaching course for Nigerian swimming coaches.
“I heard of the outbreak of Ebola and lots of stories about bombs exploding on a daily basis but being here now, everywhere seems so safe,” Richards told vangaurdngr.com.
The course will make sure the swimming coaches are up to date with the latest techniques, race tactics and the responsibilities of coaching.

“We intend to look at the role and responsibilities of a good coach, we look at training techniques and lots more," he added.
"In the afternoons we will be going to the gym and at times the pool to test our skills.”
Richards admitted that he was pleasantly surprised by the attitude of the coaches attending the course.
“They are pretty keen and enthusiastic in what they are doing....they are ready to learn and share ideas among one another.”
