Lagos - The Nigeria’s female basketball team, the D’Tigeress, will next week begin preparations for next month’s Afrobasket Women’s Championships.
The preparations for the continent’s prime women’s basketball event will resume with a training camp in Abuja.
Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), the local sport’s governing body, said after the camp, scheduled for August 12-25, the team will proceed to Lagos two days later for a number of friendly games.
That will be followed by tours to Africa and Europe from September 3-17.
The team is scheduled to arrive in Maputo, Mozambique, the host nation, on September 18 on the eve of the tournament.
Nigeria alongside the host country as well as defending champions Angola are the top-seeded teams at the tournament.
