Windhoek - Oludamilola Oluwafemi, Nigeria's only
representative at the World Squash Federation's World Junior Championships, has
been knocked out of the tournament.
Oluwafemi opened her campaign in Windhoek, Namibia, with a
3-1 victory over local hope Alyssa Cummings, but she was then beaten in straight
sets by Egypt's Nouran Gohar in the Junior Women's Main Draw.
Ranked number 121 in the WSF Junior Circuit rankings,
Oluwafemi was always going to be up against it.
She also went down in straight sets to England's Jessica
Davis in the Junior Women's Classic Plate while Germany's Nele Hatschek beat
her by the same martin in the Junior Women's Plate.
Oluwafemi was the only Nigerian competing in
Namibia after her team-mates Adebayo Kehinde, Titilayo Akinyele, Funke
Okikiola, Sunday Veronica, Abubakar Adamu, Abdulrahaman Olanrewaju and Kalu
Peter failed to get travel documents following the outbreak of the Ebola virus
in parts of Western Africa.
