Lagos - Nigeria's star athlete Blessing Okagbare says she
will take some time to consider her strategy for the upcoming Commonwealth
Games in Glasgow.
Fresh off a superb 200m victory at the Diamond League
meeting in Paris where she edged out three-time world champion and current
Olympic gold medallist Allyson Felix, Okagbare says she wants to focus on her
sprinting, while mulling over her future in the long jump event.
“I think I now want to be seen more in sprints, these are
the events followed most by the public,” said Okagbare.
“I’m not sure about my plan for the Commonwealths, the
sprints for sure and also the relay, but it’s not clear with the jumping.”
At last year's World Championships in Moscow,
Okagbare won bronze in the 200m and a silver medal in the long jump.
