Olympics 2012: Lithuania defeat D'Tigers

London - Lithuania on Tuesday defeated Nigeria’s D’Tigers in a group stage basketball contest at the London 2012 Olympics Games.

The game was played at the Basketball Arena, Olympic Park, Stratford, London.

The game ended Lithuania 72 Nigeria 53.

At the end of the third quarter, Lithuania led Nigeria by 56-40.

The half-time score was Lithuania 34 Nigeria 27 while at the end of the first quarter, the tally was Lithuania 14 Nigeria 8.

So far, Nigeria have yet to win any medal in the games since it began.

Latest results show that China are still leading with nine gold, five silver and three bronze; followed by the United States with five

gold, seven silver and five bronze; while France have three gold, one silver and three bronze medals.

China’s Li Xueying picked the gold in the women’s 58kg weightlifting contest.

Other contests scheduled for Tuesday are mixed equestrian qualifying and mixed equestrian final; men’s rowing repechage; and
men’s fencing round of 64.
