Abuja - The President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation
(NVBF), Habu Gumel, on Sunday in Abuja said the federation will target
qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games.
Gumel told newsmen at the just-concluded Final Beach
Volleyball Olympics Qualifiers that the Nigerian team would continue its
training for other tournaments.

“They are young players and we can count on them for future
encounters. So, the journey continues, the training continues, and the
“They (the players) have a short time to rest, as they will
soon start preparations for the 2016 Volleyball World Championship, and we will
attend many championships in many countries.
“So, I encourage them for the work well done in this
competition. They represented us well. We just have to encourage and appreciate
them,’’ he said.
The Final Beach Volleyball Olympics Qualifiers began on
Thursday and ended on Sunday. The Nigerian team finished in third-place at the
just Final Beach Volleyball Olympics Qualifiers.
They will participate in the 2016 World Volleyball
Championship in Kralow, Poland from June 16 to July 17.
