Ghana hosts inaugural ECOWAS industries forum

Abuja - The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has confirmed Ghana as the host country of the first regional Mining and Petroleum Forum (ECOMOF).

The Abuja-headquartered regional bloc has scheduled the event for October 6-8.

The ECOWAS Commission is organising the forum in collaboration with Ghana and an international business event organizer, AME Ltd under the theme “Valorizing West Africa’s Mineral and Petroleum Resources through Regional Cooperation.”

The regional body added that the forum will bring together high-ranking government delegations from the region.

It said key public and private sector decision makers in the regional mining and petroleum industries will also attend.

Highlights of the event will include pre-conference training and interactive workshops, conference with plenary and parallel sessions, roundtables and country presentations.

Other highlights include a trade exhibition, a social networking programme, post-event industry and socio-cultural tours.
