Liverpool - A man from Liverpool, England is set to receive close to a £100 000 in compensation after a surgeon performed a vasectomy on him instead of the minor operation he originally went to hospital for, the Daily Mirror reports.
A vasectomy is a medical procedure in which the tubes can carry sperm in a man testicles are blocked, preventing the sperm from fusing with a females egg during intercourse.
The surgeon has been sacked after the patient was the victim of a "never event", a medical procedure that is never supposed to occur.
The Royal Liverpool hospital has apologised to the unfortunate patient.
