Mother shot dead by three-year-old son

Oklahoma - A 26-year-old mother, from Tulsa in Oklahoma was shot dead by her 3-year-old son while changing his baby sister's diaper. Police have called the incident a horrible, horrible accident the Mirror reported.

Christa Engles, was shot dead by her son after the toddler managed to get his hands on a semi-automatic gun. Police labelled the incident as an accident and said Engles was hit in the head by a single shot to the head.

The boy apparently found the gun under the sofa in the house.

Her mother and husband who live with her were not at home at the time, her body was discovered by her mother who came across the body and the two children covered in blood.

Her husband, who is a truck driver, returned home the next day and could only confirm her death over the telephone after repeated calls.
