Johannesburg - American President Barack Obama has blamed problems with terrorist groups like Boko Haram on bad governance.
Obama was speaking during a town hall meeting in Soweto, South Africa, when he noted the terror crisis Nigeria is currently going through due to the Boko Haram insurgency, Channels reports.
His advice to curb the spread and activity of these groups hinged on government’s work.
“We have to build institutions a lot of what we talked about in terms of responsiveness, governance and democracy. Those things become defence mechanisms against terrorism, they are the most important defence against terrorism” he said.
Obama also ruled out military action as a solution in tackling this terrorism.
