Islamabad - The Taliban asks humanitarian and aid agencies to continue to deliver emergency supplies to earthquake victims in remote areas of northern Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The group "calls on our good willed countrymen and charitable organisations to not hold back in providing shelter, food and medical supplies to the victims of this earthquake," it said in a statement.

"It similarly orders its mujahideen [fighters] in the affected areas to lend their complete help to the victims and facilitate those giving charity to the needy," it said.
A large part of north-eastern Afghanistan is under Taliban writ, making it hard for government authorities to carry out relief work.
