Manchester – A 24-year-old plant sciences PhD student at Manchester University has begun to integrate locusts, crickets and waxworms into his diet, Metro reports.
Peter Bickerton decided to change his habits after his uncle died prematurely of a heart attack, and he decided to eat food which were low in cholesterol and his studies led him to insects.
He says that he treats the bugs just like any other meat, and for example mixes locusts with chilli sauce and makes a stir-fry.
