Lagos – A US woman was in for a shock when she went into the shower with stomach cramps and came out with a baby, Yahoo News reports.

Brittany Young, 25, from Iowa, US, is already a mother of three children and she said she knew she was pregnant but misunderstood the hospital worker. The hospital worker told Young that she had 12 weeks left but Young thought she was only 12 weeks pregnant.

A doctor at Mercy Medical Center said it is possible that Young had a medical condition called precipitous labour which meant that contractions only started a couple hours after delivery and he said it is possible that women who are already mothers can go into labour quickly.
