Allegations of adultery have been fabricated - Adelaja

25 May 2016, 07:37

Abuja - Popular Ukraine-based Pastor Sunday Adelaja has refuted claims that he has has numerous extramarital affairs, instead claiming that the allegations have been fabricated in order to tarnish his image.

According to a Punch report, the Nigerian-born church leader claimed that the allegations came as a result of his decision to hand over leadership of the Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations, due to plans to return back to his home country.

“So, it’s a leadership tussle from those whose desires for church leadership were not granted,” Adelaja stated.

Adelaja's sentiments follow on from claims that he had admitted to having carnal knowledge of between 20 and 30 women in his congregation, although the exact number could not be ascertained.

The scandal is said to have erupted when some of the women let word slip to other pastors in the area, causing an outcry among the communities in which they live.
