Five boys were rescued after police raided Coombs's hotel room in Kathmandu over the weekend. The raid was initiated after police got information from boys who had been abused there.
Police said Coombs, 48, was from Illinois and had last entered Nepal on August 23.
Other details were not given because the case involved underage victims.
