27 January 2016, 15:20

Lagos – Social media across Africa was abuzz this week with users responding to the report that the Eritrean government has ordered local men to take a second wife or risk imprisonment.

According to reports, activists posted a statement allegedly by the government of Eritrea on the internet, asking men to marry at least two wives due to an acute shortage of men caused by casualties during the civil war with Ethiopia.

So many Africans took to social media to express their reactions to the reports.
