Man claims dead grandpa keeps him alive in prison

Johannesburg - An inmate has claimed that the ghost of his dead grandfather keeps him safe from harm in a South African prison, Daily Sun has reported.

According to the man, identified as Vicky Shingange, has stated that the old man's spirit has kept him safe from thugs who allegedly nearly beat him to death.

Vicky, who has been sentenced to 52 years in prison due to armed robbery, revealed that his grandfather's ghost visits him every night in full uniform and assures him that he should not fear that thugs who are allegedly after him.

Despite Vicky's claims that he was assaulted in December of last year, Ofentse Morwane, spokesman at the South African Department of Correctional Services has refuted his utterances, saying that the man was sent to the prison's internal hospital for treatment and that the doctor on duty could not find any evidence that he had been assaulted.
