Puebla - The partially burned body of a priest has been found on a rural road in central Mexico, four days after his disappearance, authorities said Tuesday.
The body of Erasmo Pliego de Jesus was discovered in the municipality of Nopalucan on Monday, the Puebla state prosecutor's office said.
The victim had head injuries and burn marks on several parts of the body, the prosecutor's office said in a statement.

A search was launched last Friday after the parish priest of the town of Cuyuaco was reported missing. His family confirmed the victim's identity.
Priests have been targeted by criminal groups in other parts of the country, prompting the Roman Catholic Church to urge Mexican authorities last December to take action to protect them.
The Catholic Multimedia Center says 11 priests have now been killed since 2013 while two remain missing.
