10 August 2016, 15:56

Abuja - A mother and son who claim to be "madly in love" are fighting to stay together after they were ordered to move apart.

According to the UK Metro, Monica Mares and her 19-year-old son Caleb Peterson are set to stand on charges of incest after they decided to go public with their relationship.

The duo, who are looking to raise awareness about Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA), met recently after Monica put her son up for adoption shortly after his birth.

Celb is said to have moved in with Monica when their relationship blossomed, leading to the situation that they are currently facing.

Monica, a mother of 9, is said to have reciprocated her son's sexual attraction towards her, following which the couple went public, Daily Mail reports.

The mother has admitted to being scared to go out in public due to people knowing of the relationship and threatening to kill her as a result.
